Sarah - Louise : Poet
Sarah-Louise writes amazing poetry to connect those living with Invisible Illness. Sarah doesn't have a collection of poetry anywhere on line (as yet) that we are able to link to - though this page will display some of the poetry she has written in relation to Theda.
The below poem is one that Sarah wrote not long after Theda passed. It's reference to the Northern Star was one of the factors underlying the choice of Pegasus as the Foundation Logo. Ie: Pegasus final resting place is the Northern Sky.
The Brave North Star
The brave north star stood watching
As the years passed by on Earth,
She sighed for every sorrow
And she sung for every birth
She wondered in the heavens
How it felt to those who breathed,
As they learnt to love the people
In who's kindness they believed
She knew not how to suffer,
Stars don't ever have to bleed,
But she ached for each injustice
And the hearts she saw in need
"I can surely make a difference"
She once tried to tell the sky,
Who was busy in his slumbers
As the full moon pootled by
"I am sure that I can help them"
She twice tried to tell the night
But he kept on weaving shadows
As he argued with the light
So the north star stepped from heaven,
In a dress of sparkled dust,
As daring as a comet
As she gave the breeze her trust
She fell down with a whisper
To the safety of the ground,
As graceful as a dancer
With the softest bell-like sound
She became a stunning woman,
Living in this world of pain,
Remembering the liberty
Of life above the rain
She touched the world with beauty
And she lifted up each heart,
All those who ever saw her
Thought she was a work of art
She held out hands of friendship
While the light shone in her eyes
And she gave each soul she met with
The deep blessing of the skies
But stars were not made mortal
Or for life on solid land,
It hurt her to keep going
And she didn't understand
Not only did she suffer
But it hurt her soul to breathe
As she carried on enchanting,
Til she knew she had to leave
She stayed until she couldn't,
She gave us all her gorgeous love,
Glancing up a little wistful
To the peaceful stars above
And yesterday she joined them,
She went back to shine with grace
To be the star we look to,
For the memory of her face
The north star now stands watching
As across the earth we roam,
She's there to be our lantern
And she's there to guide us home
She sends love in the darkness
While she guards us from on high,
She'll always be the north star,
We don't need to say goodbye
As the years passed by on Earth,
She sighed for every sorrow
And she sung for every birth
She wondered in the heavens
How it felt to those who breathed,
As they learnt to love the people
In who's kindness they believed
